Question 1

What qualifications must the therapists meet?

The therapists at Capitol Kids Therapy have met the standards for national certification, state licensing, and adhere to the guidelines set forth for continuing education. To become a speech pathologist you must complete a Master's Level education at an institution accredited by our national board, The American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA), and pass both college and national boards. In addition, speech pathologists have additional certification called the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) that is given after completing a minimum of 9 months working under the supervision of another ASHA certified SLP.

Does Capitol Kids Therapy accept insurance?

Accepted Answer

Capitol Kids Therapy does not have the ability to process internal billing and collections through individual insurance claims. We will assist you in any way to help provide treatment notes, progress notes, evaluations, and other documentation necessary for you to seek reimbursement for services. We highly recommend that you talk to your insurance company prior to the start of therapy to determine what benefits your plan offers. Some families have also used flexible spending accounts to augment what their insurance does or does not provide. Please see the Insurance and Billing page for more information.

When do I pay for services?

Accepted Answer

You will be given an invoice at the end of each month, to be paid in full upon receipt. At this time, Capitol Kids Therapy encourages and appreciates payment through personal checks in order to limit processing fees. Credit card payments may also be accepted.

Question 4

What type of children does your practice serve?

Accepted Answer

Most of the children seen at Capitol Kids Therapy are under 12 years of age, with the majority of clients being toddler and pre-K/Kindergarten age. Infants and toddlers are seen at our practice for oral-motor, feeding, articulation, and language development. Children ages 7–12 are typically seen for articulation errors, social/pragmatic skills, problem solving skills, reading/writing, and language processing skills. We have a variety of games and resources to meet the needs of all children from infant to 12 years of age.
